As we come to the end of this Easter season, I'm filled with gratitude for how things are opening up, coming back to life, and being restored. It's been a hard year, no doubt - one where we had to stay apart from one another and couldn't sing together for so long. As we move into the summer months and some of our worship moves outside, I pray we will feel the warmth of the sunshine and the breeze through the pine trees as the breath of the Holy Spirit, bringing healing and comfort to our community.
We've been through a lot...but God is faithful. He has brought us this far, and He will not let us down.
Our choirs will take a break for the summer so we can come back renewed and refreshed in the fall. If you are interested in singing or playing an instrument with us during Masses over the summer, we still have room for you - we just won't be having regular weekly choir rehearsals. Please get in touch with me if you'd like to help with music this summer. Our 8:30 Mass will be outdoors with cantors and electronic piano (and other instruments as available). Our 10:30 Mass will be indoors with organ/piano and cantor.
Veni sancte spiritus - come, Holy Spirit!
Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful. And kindle in them the fire of your love. Send forth your Spirit and they shall be created. And you will renew the face of the earth. Lord, by the light of the Holy Spirit you have taught the hearts of your faithful. In the same Spirit help us to relish what is right and always rejoice in your consolation.
Pour forth the wisdom and gifts of the Spirit on our Harvest of Hope community and set our hearts on fire with your love.
We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
